Gloria Jean's - Northlands

Against my better judgement, I followed Wife into the Collins Bookstore in Northlands Shopping Centre which has a Gloria Jean's franchise in it. I ordered a latte with Hazelnut syrup, which turned out to be THE worst coffee I've ever had. Poor temparature, too milky, too much syrup and to top it all off, served in a paper cup! Despite being a sit down cafe, in their wisdom GJ's will only serve in a ceramic mug if the order is a 'large'. I vow from this moment forward to NEVER have another coffee from a franchise outlet ... it always ends up ugly.

Correct. Gloria Jeans coffee is comparable to dirt and hot water. Like Starbucks, they think great coffee is all about shop fronts, signs and fancy furniture.

Daryl Daryl Daryl...

While I applaud your bravery and understand your desperation in setting foot in said establishment; the septic scum served in any of these large chain stores is always near undrinkable and often a serious hazard to ones tastebuds.

Go and get your shots matey.

I service coffee machines for a living and I would rather drink coffee from Gloria Jeans any day than a independent coffee cafe as Gloria Jeans have strict cleaning policys shown to them from day one!!
